Deborah Rodriguez is a Level 3 Instructor through USA Archery who is committed to furthering the safe education of archery in youth organizations in Northern and Central California. She is available for certification trainings, one-on-one instructions as well as small group instruction, and even all-day events!
She learned archery as a child with her father who was the Den Leader for her brother Michael's Cub Scout den. Though it seems silly now, the fact that she got to use a bigger bow than all the boys (even though Deborah was two years older than them) really made a huge impact on her that she could do it! She helped her dad run archery ranges for Girl Scout jamborees and smaller events for years through high school before getting the Level 1 instructor certification right at the age of eighteen. She ran the archery ranges at Camp Butano Creek for a few years before realizing that she wanted to teach the teachers, and proceeded to get her Level 2 certification at the age of twenty-one. She has run trainings for the Girl Scout and Boy Scout councils, as well as independent trainings that benefited volunteers in the Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore & Oroville areas.
She is now a Spanish teacher in the Sacramento area and has recently started an Archery Club at the high school where she is employed. The kids love it so far, but she really wants to expand the opportunities for kids of all ages to get to experience archery.
